Hey, I know its been a minute but hang in there. The Co. is working on some new looks for the site, taking a few steps into the future (fingers crossed) and doing it all on our own (toes, eyes, and all other body parts crossed). All I can say is soon, be ready!

Piggy’s

I learned a long time ago that there are bad guys on both sides of town. I can’t say that I would agree with the left or the right. Recently I had a chance to watch Michael Moore’s latest documentary on capitalism and it’s role in our economic meltdown. Whether you agree with the guy’s opinions or not, I have to give it to him for doing the work he does. And anyone who pisses off politicians as much as he does has to be doing something right. Check it when you get a chance and find out why I now feel our pals in Germany and Japan owe us beers for life!

We all get in ruts from time to time. I’ve felt a little stiff lately myself. No pep talks today, just gonna keep going.

America. For all your misdeeds and misrepresentations. For all your short-sidedness and prejudice. For all your wrong way wars, patriot acts, oil spills, and Arizona. The Co. still loves you. Along with the rest of the hard workin’ folks (”legal and illegal”) that make up this great place we call home. We’ll keep wishing and hoping that some day you’ll realize your full potential…at least before we nuke ourselves.

TEXAS 1984

Teaxs Board of Education (please read this article). I’m going to do my best not to soapbox this one for your sake and mine. May 21st, 2010  The Texas Board of Education failed the children of Texas and possibly most of the nations children as they passed numerous amendments to their current text book curriculum. Sociology, History, Economics all have been rewritten in detail. Heres a few of my favorites:

The down play of Thomas Jefferson’s role in the writing of the Constitution because it was him who coined the term “Separation of Church and State”

Switching the term for Capitalism to “Free Enterprise System”, because admittedly conservatives feel it has negative connotations.

Students will be taught of the violent philosophy of the Black Panther Party.

Students will be taught about the “conservative resurgence” in the 1980-1990s.

Honorable mention: To refer to the current president of the United States as “Barrack Hussein Obama”

Not everything is funny all the time. Generations of kids nation wide are going to be taught the lies and half truths of a handful of extremely-right wing white folks in Texas because…we let them.

Why Can’t We Be Friends?

The history of Cinco De Mayo, as told by some English lady (thats as unbiased as I could find). Personally, I’ve had a growing discontent for the “holiday” and country that made it up and celebrates (with great passion) the culture of a people it generally treats like shit. *They are passing out mexican mustaches at work today, maybe I’m being sensitive. Hell I’m not even Mexican, but if it was Filipino independence day you wouldn’t see me dressed up like the “Barrel Man”. Back to my point, if I ever had one. I was bummed on Cinco. But after digging a little deeper, thanks internet, I found that there could be some reasons for everyone to celebrate this kinda-sorta holiday. Mexicans: Beat up on the French, Saved America when we were busy fighting ourselves. Americans: Saved America when we were busy fighting ourselves.

So yeah, all reasons to eat, drink, and be merry. Maybe today is a good day to sit down and workout all this immigration business. We’re neighbors, like it or not…we should be able to share a drink and work out some issues. Let’s just chill out on the slightly racist party favors.

Ain’t That America.

Upon certain occasions, when the times call for it,  the family and I like to participate in a little civil unrest. A practice that began while my wife was 6 pregnant and began protesting a power plant some  utility corporation was trying build next to an elementary school in Chula Vista. This weekend the cause was just as great, as thousands of folks of all colors and backgrounds protested the current events in Arizona. The protested marched from SD’s Chicano Park through down town to the Federal building, where they were met by a small group of not-so-well-wishers. No matter what your stance on this unethical and unconstitutional law (my two cents), it is definitely amazing to see Americans stand up and speak out when they feel they’ve been wronged. Let the man know your watching and your not going to let shit slide.

The Search Continues…

It goes on and on and on…and now folks are sending in votes via email. SB is leaning this way, he’s having twins by the way, very fitting.  I’m leaning towards anything made after 32 and before 66 that I can afford I guess. All the while real life is still moving and it looks like the family will need a new car before dad gets his own classic. Eh, my time will come. This photo comes from Question(Mark). Thanks buddy!

The Dude.

I know Satan is really trending right now, but I’ve always been down for “The Dude”, (couldn’t tell you what his/her name or choice of man-made religion he/she is, but I’ll just go with “The Dude”).

Nabbed this from fecalface.com.
