Life takes us all on few different turns, creative types seem to have a few more lefts and rights then average . That holds true for my  former clasemate and buddy, Ted Galvez. I first met Ted in college almost ten years ago. We were both hungry advertising students, and even back then you could tell Ted was going to do some great things. Recently, through a little facebook lurking, I found out about his newest project. Jyumoku. Amazingly handmade bags that he’s pieced together using “recycled” materials. To  quote another friend Len (02Motorworks), it’s not the first time that someone has made bags in this fashion, but Ted definitely brings a unique take on it. Whether its the time and care put into the construction, or the beautiful mix of fabrics, Jyumoku is definitely a brand to watch. Keep following those turns, and keep up the good work buddy!

This is my dad circa 1971. Navy man, world traveler, craftsman, expert cook, and overall cool cat. Pops has always been an inspiration to me, whether I knew it or not. One of the greatest surprises in my life has been slowly finding out exactly how much we have in common. Although, I can’t say that I’m on the same level just yet. But hell, these photos set the “cool” bar pretty high. Happy Dad Day to you and yours. Hope you had a good one.

The world is officially kicked off this morning, and like Janet’s back up dancer says in this clip from ESPN, its about expectation for our boys. This is the second world cup that I’ve been wrapped in, so that adds up to about 4-5 years of highs and lows with the always scrappy under dogs (my kinda party). This cup is the first time I think we might have a legit shot. Of course the entire planet would disagree, where football (soccer) has been around for hundreds of years. We’ve only been able to get Americans to back the beautiful game for roughly 15 years. If you haven’t given it a chance yet. The Americans will play England tomorrow morning in what I believe will be a on field reenactment of the American Revolution. Go Yanks!
