When I was in my 20’s I secured one of the best jobs I’ve ever had as a valet doing private parties. I got to drive expensive cars, people tipped me for it, I got some exercise and sometimes I even had to opportunity to meet some famous people. One in particular stands out to me as probably one of the most random experiences ever. I as working the La Jolla Museum for some art show which at the time I didn’t think it was all that important but as the night progressed I realized it was for Dennis Hopper. As I’m waiting at my station, this black Mercedes pulls up, I open the door and out steps Dennis fucking Hopper. He smiles hands me a 10 and says “keep it safe my man.” Hell yes I will. And I did. I made sure I was the one that returned his car and hands me a another 10 and says “be cool.” Since then that’s what I’ve always tried to do…

About 2 months ago some “people” jumped at good friend of ours. They broke bones, left scars, and pretty much left him for dead for no good reason. I’d like to take a second on this platform to give a big FUCK YOU to those “people”. All negativity aside, it was great to see our buddy Rob B. up and at it again. On this day, he was doing his 9th left handed tattoo. Not amazing for a veteran tattoo artist like Rob, but amazing when you take into account that he’s right handed and his right arm was broken and screwed together after the attack. Folks that were just down for the toughest man alive (check facebook for Rob B. vs Chuck Norris comparisons) just wanted to keep the guy going, whether it was his right or his left. Just another reason why I love this town and I appreciate the friends I’ve made here. Head down to Flying Panther and witness for yourself the toughest SOB in SD.
