So I know Mr. John Hall threw The Co.’s work with Digital Gravel. I haven’t heard from him in a while and apparently he’s been a busy dude. He hit me up a few weeks ago for a interview on his new blog project Typo-Graphical.com. Now I’ve done my share of design digging on this great internet of ours, and honestly it gets boring. Not this one though. John’s definitely done his homework on these post, keeping them all fresh and informative. Not to mention he’s got pretty good taste in designers (shameless plug #1). Proof is in the posting, check it here. (shameless plug #2)
Around the same time that my baby boy was born, his uncle Ryan was designing all your favorite weapons for the new COD game. The same game that is currently reducing productivity levels and upsetting relationships world wide. During the design and testing process, he sent me this screen shot of the M14EBR. Upon closer inspection, I realize why he sent it…the serial number at the bottom is actually my son’s birthday. Forever immortalized in the worlds best selling video game ever and he wasn’t even a month old yet. There’s even a nod to our home town on the side in yellow, SD-619. If the rest of the world hasn’t told you yet, good job uncle Ryan.
Kind of a new favorite thing of mine that I’ve been seeing more and more on the web. Classic movie posters getting the mid-century treatment! A-mazing, I wish they could repackaged my whole life in mid-century form and play reruns of it on Nick At Nite! That made no sense, whatever…
Dice Magazine. Know all over the world for their epic contribution to all things motor and art. Dean and the boys just recently drop issue #30. There is, or should I say was a nice little gift from The Co. to go along with it, but apparently you knew that already. They ran out after the day after the new issue came out! Thanks to our new buddies at Dice and thanks to you nice folks out there supporting the cause.
Recenlty, the young and better version of me (my younger brother) started up his own zine. The Merit Badge is is now 2 issues in and doesn’t look like its going to slow down anytime soon. Commenting on the local South Bay skate scene, and other misadventures, its good to see that the medium is still in good hands.
I currently have an urge to add to my collection. Unfortunately I’m not very patient, and I don’t want to settle for anything small. Obsessive personality… dangerous and expensive.
Playoff time folks and the post season also means teams get their Superbowl rap videos together. Apparently, LT put this one together with Tim and Eric (Adultswim) for a sport commentary show that never made it out. I might be a bit bias, but I think this one might even top the Bears Superbowl shuffle from 85. You be the judge, go Bolts!
